A cape is a lightweight cover that goes over a service dog’s back and attaches to a harness with clips or snaps or Velcro. It holds patches or can be embroidered or have vinyl wording or symbols to identify the dog. (HCK9 doesn’t offer embroidery on capes and vests at this time.)
A vest is usually a sturdier piece of gear that sits on the dog’s back around the body, used to hold patches and sometimes handles or attachments for work tasks.
A pull strap is a strong strap made of either braided fleece, webbing backed with fleece, or biothane. It attaches to a harness so that the dog can help assist their handler in walking.
A counter balance handle is either a rigid or semi rigid handle on a service dog’s harness that helps the handler with balance and stability while walking or standing.
Almost all of HCK9’s gear can be washed in a machine on delicate. Patches and leash wraps should be hand washed with mild soap and warm water, scrubbing may affect the embroidery quality and is not advised. For more detailed information please go to: [How to wash your Gear]
